Puppies/Dogs
We are entertaining a new policy!
In the past we have taken dogs/puppies and cats/kittens from the community and animal control. After caring for them, we have either adopted them out or placed them with the Humane Society of NE Florida.
The time and expense has taken a toll on the attention required by our farm animals. This year we plan to re-evaluate our accommodations for cats/kittens and dogs/puppies. We will then offer our services to other rescues who may need a temporary holding place. We will only work with non-profits and rescues who have high standards for quality care and adoptions. All animals must be vetted and micro-chipped. For all prospective adoptees - their applications must be verified and an appropriate home check done before the animal is placed.
What a Cutie!! Meet "Darby O'Gill"!
A really great dog looking for a loving home!!! Golden Retriever/mix - Darby is a 4 year old who was rescued from "death row" at Animal Control. He was underweight, had scabies, hookworms and tested positive for heart worms. We have cured the scabies and hookworms. Darby has been neutered and his vaccinations are up to date. He has put on weight and loves his daily walks. We have opted to use monthly heartworm prevention (vs. radical & expensive treatment) to treat his heartworm.
Darby is a wonderful, energetic and happy dog! He presently weighs 65 pounds. If you can offer him a forever loving home, please fill out an application. Any inquiries are welcome. If you wish to meet Darby, call Ode Spear #386-325-8289 or email: uafarm@comcast.net.

"Bunny" and her Huge Litter...Adopted!!

This was "Bunny" and her litter of 12 puppies! We fostered this clan for the Humane Society of NE Florida. Bunny was at Animal Control when Robin Nordan (H.S. Director) spotted her at Animal Control. She was so friendly and sooooo pregnant! We took Bunny to the Sanctuary to foster until the puppies were adoptable. All was going well until the pups reached 6 weeks old. Parvo took 1 puppy and soon after 5 others died! We were devastated! The remaining 6 puppies eventually grew healthy and strong. They and Bunny were adopted out through the Humane Society of N.E. Florida.
August 14th update: Bunny and her puppies have all been adopted!

Farm Animals

We are a farm animal sanctuary. Our animal residents are not used for breeding, sold or exploited. All rabbits, dogs and cats are spay/neutered. With the exception of farm fowl, male farm animals neutered. Female piglets are spayed. There quality of life and safety are our priority.
If you can provide a farm animal a permanent, safe, loving home, we encourage you to submit an adoption application for our records. Often we don't have space for the many farm animals in need. We will refer to the qualified applications on file in an effort to place them. We plan to verify references and do home checks prior to any placements. The farm animals most often in need of loving homes are: roosters, adult potbellied pigs, farm pigs, wild pig mixes, billy goats and elderly horses.
